Description

Mount Kailash is one of the most sacred and mysterious mountains in the world, located in the remote western region of Tibet, China. Rising to an elevation of 6,638 meters, Mount Kailash is considered the spiritual axis of the universe and holds profound religious importance for Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and the ancient Bon religion. Unlike other Himalayan peaks, Mount Kailash has never been climbed, as it is believed to be the divine abode of Lord Shiva and a place beyond human conquest.

Near Mount Kailash lies the sacred Lake Manasarovar, one of the highest freshwater lakes on Earth, revered as a source of spiritual cleansing and enlightenment. Pilgrims believe that bathing in its holy waters washes away sins of past lives, while circumambulating Mount Kailash — known as the Kailash Parikrama (Kora) — brings spiritual merit and liberation. The full parikrama covers approximately 52 kilometers and crosses the high-altitude Dolma La Pass (5,630m), making it both a physically demanding and spiritually rewarding journey.
